Baccarat is one of the world’s most popular casino table games, suitable for both occasional players and high rollers alike. It comes as no surprise, then, that when gaming web sites began offering live dealer options, baccarat was the very first game to be streamed live. In fact, it was Playtech who introduced live baccarat from their Asian dealer room in 2003.
Since then, more than dozen other live dealer baccarat platforms have been launched, now available at hundreds of online casinos from the Caribbean to Europe to Australia. The games may vary somewhat, as do the minimum and maximum betting limits, but players will find the variations quite easy to pick up and learn, as most a similar to the standard Punto Banco game they will have played against the computer’s software.
Playtech’s Manila-based Asian dealer room, for example, offers five versions to choose from: standard, mini, in-running, progressive or VIP tables. All games are dealt from an eight-deck shoe with reshuffles when about two decks remain. There are pairs side-bets, too. Among casinos subscribed to the video stream are bet365, FA Casino and Dafabet, to name just a few. Minimum wagers start at €5, with the upper limit for VIP betting set at €1,000.
As an alternative, Playtech clients may also offer live baccarat from the supplier’s Euro dealer studio in Riga, Latvia. It features multi-seat tables with standard wagering and pairs side bets. Games are dealt from an eight-deck shoe with reshuffles mid-shoe. The Euro version is available at William Hill, 21 Nova and Betfred as well as at bet365 as an option.
Competitor Microgaming is the supplier of live Baccarat for Royal Vegas, Platinum Play, 10bet, and many other online casinos. The Microgaming platform allows players to choose either multi-seat or single seat tables, all with “Bonus Baccarat” and pairs side bets. It is also possible to play multiple tables simultaneously by opening additional browser windows. The minimums start at just €1 per bet, with maximums of up to €5,000.
Not to be outdone, Evolution Gaming has contracted with a broad range of online gaming sites to offer their live mini baccarat tables, both standard and VIP. At the latter table maximum limits can reach as high as €10,000, €20,000 or even €80,000, although minimums start as low as €1. Examples of major casinos featuring the Evolution Gaming platform for live baccarat are 888 Live, William Hill Vegas, Unibet and Bet Victor.
Those are by far the most popular of the live baccarat providers, but certainly not the only ones. EntwineTech has a strong baccarat game range, broadcast from a studio based in Macau. CWC Gaming, the supplier for Ladbrokes, has its own Web Cam casino online with a high-roller table allowing bets of up to €10,000. And Vuetec streams their live dealer baccarat direct from a real bricks and mortar casino—the Fitzwilliam Card Club & Casino in Dublin, Ireland.
Those who are not quite ready for huge stakes baccarat are also in luck. The company know as Visionary iGaming provides the live dealer interface for Celtic Casino, Castle Casino and Fairway Casino, each of which require minimum stakes of just €0.50. The caps on betting range from €300 to €500 for six-deck Punto Banco mini baccarat with standard betting. Pairs and Dragon Bonus side bets are said to be “under development.”
Other live baccarat platform operators include HoGaming, with emphasis on multiplayer social gaming and interactive dealer chat, as well as Bodog, which runs its own proprietary operation. For U.S. players, who have been largely left out of the live dealer craze, BetPhoenix has a “no frills” interface that can be played via their own site or at Bogart Casino, where the table limits are $5 to $5,000.
