World Cup Qualification Europe - Denmark vs Armenia
September 04, 2016 17:00pm - Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle
World Cup Qualification - Group E
Armenia will be hoping to equal their last World Cup qualifying performance in Denmark when they romped to a 4-0 win in Copenhagen back in 2013.
Armenia hold decent record against Denmark
At first glance, Denmark may stand out as clear favourites for this game. After all, the 1992 European Champions are still ranked in the world’s top 50 and have some well-known names in their squad. However, in recent clashes against Armenia they have been far from convincing.
The last meeting between the two sides came in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign when they played out a 0-0 draw in Armenia on the final match day. In the reverse fixture, Denmark came out on top in a close 2-1 win at home. The teams also met in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign when Armenia strolled to a 4-0 win away from home before falling 0-1 on home soil.
The Armenians come into this game on the back of a 3-0 friendly defeat in the Czech Republic. Prior that that, they scored 11 goals in two games against Guatemala and El Salvador. Having peaked at No. 35 in the world rankings back in 2013, Armenia are currently positioned at number 102.
Meanwhile, Denmark warmed up for this game with 4-0 and 5-0 home wins against Bulgaria and Liechtenstein respectively. Age Hareide’s men are currently ranked 44 in the world, their lowest ever position in the FIFA table.

Betting odds and tips
Armenia have proved to be a handful for Denmark in their last few meetings, so the home side will be approaching this game with great caution. As a result, the away win/draw double chance looks good value at 11/5.
