Premier League preview and odds: Stoke City vs Tottenham Hotspur
September 10 , 2016 15:00pm - Bet365 Stadium
Premier League
Bottom of the table Stoke City will try to add to their single-point tally when they face off against an unbeaten Tottenham Hotspur side at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.
Tough start for the Potters
Stoke City failed to win any of their first six Premier League games last season but still managed to secure a ninth place finish. As a result, boss Mark Hughes will not be too worried about his sides stuttering start this term.
The Potters kicked off their season with a 1-1 draw away to newly-promoted Middlesbrough before falling to back-to-back defeats at home to Manchester City and away to Everton. They are one of five teams with just one point on the board but remain bottom of the table thanks to a goal difference of -4.
This weekends` opponents, Tottenham Hotspur, have yet to lose a game having played out two draws (away to Everton and home to Liverpool) either side of a 1-0 win at home to Crystal Palace. The North Londoners were perhaps fortunate to have earned a point in the game against Liverpool after the visitors enjoyed the bulk of the possession but failed to take their chances.
Spurs had a slow to last season but will be keen not to fall too far behind the early pace setters from Manchester and their London rivals, Chelsea.
Team news
Stoke still have a few injury worries with Jack Butland, Stephen Ireland and Ibrahim Afellay all out of action.
Meanwhile, Michel Vorm will continue in goal for the visitors as Captain Hugo Lloris continues his recovery from injury.

Betting odds and tips
Stoke City always seem to take a while to get going as coach Mark Hughes paces his squad towards peak fitness. However, the same could be said of Spurs who have looked far from their best at the start of this campaign - a factor that applied last year as well.
Having said that, Spurs remain unbeaten and have only conceded two goal so far this season - a tally only bettered by Manchester United.
