Premier League preview and odds: Manchester City vs AFC Bournemouth

September 17 , 2016 15:00pm - Etihad Stadium

Premier League

Premier League pace-setters Manchester City will look to keep the pressure on the chasing pack by grabbing all three points at home to second-termers AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Guardiola defending 100% record as City boss

According to many pundits, Pep Guardiola would find life tough-going in the Premier League. However, so far, things have been pretty plain sailing for the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

Manchester City have won all seven of their competitive games since Guardiola took the reins and they already have a two-point lead over their closest rivals (Chelsea) at the top of the Premier League table.

They come into this match on the back of a 4-0 midweek win against German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League, having previously overcome arch rivals Manchester United (2-1) in the derby game at Old Trafford a few days earlier.

With such confidence running through the City squad, the signs are ominous for lowly AFC Bournemouth who have just one win to their name this season and are currently sat in 14th place in the table.

That win came in the last match at home to West Bromwich Albion (1-0) and boss Eddie Howe will be hoping that his team can carry some of that positivity into this game.

Team news

The home side will have to make do without the services of Fernando, Fabian Delph.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have a full strength squad at their disposal.

Betting odds and tips

It could be a tough afternoon for Bournemouth who prefer to go on the offensive rather than trying to park the bus. Whatever approach they try, it could turn into an afternoon of damage limitation for the Cherries.
