Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland
September 18 , 2016 16:30pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Unbeaten Tottenham Hotspur can lift themselves back into the Premier League`s top four when they take on winless Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Solid start for last year`s third-ranked team
Tottenham Hotspur will have a great opportunity to close the gap on the Premier League leaders on Sunday when they face one of the league`s worst-performing teams.
Spurs are one of three teams yet to have suffered defeat in the top flight, Manchester City and Everton being the other two. A pair of wins matched by a pair of draws has left them in seventh place in the table with a game in hand on the current top five. A win on Sunday could see them rise up to third place behind their unbeaten counterparts.
Meanwhile, Sunderland will look to end a four-game winless streak when they make the long journey south to London this weekend. David Moyes` men stand alongside Southampton and Stoke City as the only three teams yet to have recorded a win in this season`s Premier League campaign. All three sides currently occupy the relegation places, although a win would lift the Black Cats out of the drop zone at the expense of floundering West Ham United.
The northeast club picked up their only point of the term so far in a draw against fellow strugglers Southampton and come into this game on the back of a 0-3 home defeat to Moyes` former club Everton.
Add to that the fact that Sunderland have won just one of their last 13 meetings against the North Londoners, and the prospects do not look good for Moyes and his men.
Team news
Danny Rose is the only injury concern for the home side.
Meranwhile, the visitors will continue to operate without the services of Steven Pienaar, Fabio Borini, Sebastian Larsson and Billy Jones.

Betting odds and tips
Sunderland have been dismal so far this season. The fighting spirit and hard-working attitude that saw them scrape to survival last term has not been carried forward into the start of this season and as things stand, they look like prime relegation candidates once again.
Just like last season, Spurs are proving tough to beat at league level. They cruised to a 4-0 win away to bottom club Stoke City last time out and a similar score-line can be expected against Sunderland.
Back Tottenham Hotspur -1.5 in the Asian Handicap market at 19/20 with Bet365.
