Champions League Preview and Odds - Barcelona vs Manchester City
October 19, 2016 20:45pm - Camp Nou
Referee: M. Mazic
Champions League - Group Stage
Barcelona will look to maintain their lead in Group C of the Champions League when they welcome a Manchester City side led by their old boss Pep Guardiola to the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.
Barca unbeaten in 19 Champions League home matches
Barcelona have lost just one of the last 40 Champions League home matches. That solitary defeat came more than three years ago against eventual winners Bayern Munich.
Their Camp Nou dominance will be tested on Wednesday night when they face Pep Guardiola`s Manchester City it what promises to be a pulsating clash. The Spanish side have won all four of the previous competitive clashes between the two teams, the last being a 1-0 victory at the Camp Nou back in 2015.
Luis Enrique`s men have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight Champions League matches and have scored the opening goal in 75% of their matches.
The Catalans come into this game on the back of a 4-0 win at home to Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga. Prior to that, they were beaten 4-3 away to Celta de Vigo.
Meanwhile, opponents Manchester City have won just one of their last four Champions League away matches, the most recent being a 3-3 draw away to Celtic. However, they have yet to be defeated in this competition under Pep Guardiola.
They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 league draw at home to Everton, in which they missed two penalty kicks. They have yet to beat Barcelona in a competitive match but did win their only previous friendly encounter back in 2009.
Team news
Barcelona should have a full strength side to choose from following the return of Lionel Messi at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will continue without the services of Bacary Sagna and Fabian Delph.
