Go To bet365When one thinks of treasure, pirates roving the high seas almost immediately come to mind, with their pillaged chests full of gold and gemstones buried on deserted islands. That’s exactly the imagery that Ash Gaming, a Playtech company, has sought to recreate with its 5-reel, 20-payline slot game called “Chest of Plenty.” Currently available at Bet365, William Hill and other Playtech affiliated casinos, it offers lots of bonuses en route to hidden riches.
The game opens with a short introduction that highlights the various features of the game, such as the Treasure Island Bonus, the Treasure Chest Scatter and the 9-Diamond Progressive jackpot. There’s also a unique Wild symbol feature that increases the chances of winning big line payouts. When the slot window opens, the ocean can be heard in the background. The reels appear to be nestled in a hidden island cove, flanked by lush tropical vegetation and a tall-mast wooden sailing ship moored offshore.
To begin, the player must choose the amount to wager per line by using the “Stake Down” and “Stake Up” buttons at the bottom of the screen. Available amounts range from €0.01 to €5.00. It is not necessary to select which lines to play on Chests of Plenty. All 20 lines are always active, thus making the maximum wager possible €100. The amounts bet per line and all together on each spin can be seen in the “Stake” and “Total Stake” indicators at the right corner of the display.
To set the reels in motion, click on green “Play” button in the bottom right corner. When the five reels come to rest, any winning combinations will be highlighted with a colored frame. The values of the line wins and the corresponding line numbers are displayed in the “Win” counter in the upper left corner, while the “Total” indicator in the upper right corner shows the full amount paid out. Funds available can be seen in the “Balance” counter at the very top of the screen on the right.
The basic symbols on the reels are the standard cards, Tens through Aces. Catching three or more of them matching on a payline is worth from 5X to 120X. Higher payouts come from matching three or more Parrot, Cutlasses or Male Pirate symbols, valued at 40X to 2000X. The blond Female Pirate symbol is wild. The game refers to her as “Chesty,” and she substitutes for any of the other symbols except the Treasure Map Bonus scatter and the Treasure Chest Scatter.
If 3, 4 or 5 wild Chest symbols appear in a row on an active payline, they pay out line bet multiplier of 200X, 500X or 10000X, respectively. Chesty also has a very special effect on the Male Pirate symbol. If she shows up on a reel immediately adjacent to a Male Pirate, either to the left or right, she will “drive him wild.” In other words, the Male Pirate is also turned into a wild symbol.
Catching three or more Treasure Map Bonus scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger the Treasure Island Bonus. A second screen will open showing the rules for the bonus round. There are three different islands to visit: Booty Island, Isle of Plenty and Jackpot Island. Each has its own path featuring prizes on every step, including cash multipliers, mystery awards and maps. A pirate in the left corner of the screen will spin a wheel indicating how many steps to move. If the player collects three maps, the display shifts to the next island, and each island offers successively higher rewards—the greatest being on Jackpot Island with multipliers of 300X to 2000X available.
It is possible to advance directly to Jackpot Island by catching five Treasure Map Bonus scatters on the triggering spin. Four maps will start the bonus on Isle of Booty, while three will initiate the round on Booty Island. The bonus ends when the pirate spins a “Skull & Crossbones” symbol on the wheel.
One other bonus feature on Chests of Plenty is its Progressive jackpot, which can be accessed only in Real Play mode. Whenever three Treasure Chest Scatter symbols show on reels one, three and five, the Treasure Chest Scatter Feature is started. The chests expand and reveal three gems each. Matching 3 Rubies pays a total wager multiplier of 1X, three emeralds pays 2X and 3 Diamonds pays 5X. Chests continue drawing gens until no more wins occur. Catching 9 Diamonds in a row pays the Progressive jackpot.
