The action takes place in a mythical land of magic and extraordinary creatures, where waterfalls and rainbows issue from a floating kingdom and cash rewards are astronomical for those who happen upon the winning combination.
Dragon Kingdom features the standard Playtech 5-reel, 20-payline format. Credit denominations run from €0.20 up to €500 per line, allowing for a maximum bet of €10,000 per spin. Wagering values can be set by using the controls located beneath the first two reels. Clicking on “Bet Max” under the fourth reel maximizes the number of lines bet, but it does not change the amount of the wager per line. Note that there is no Autoplay option in this game.
The basic symbols seen on the Dragon Kingdom reels are the cards, Tens through Aces, which burst into flames when appearing in winning combinations. The Tens require only two matches on an active payline to award 2X to 250X as a line bet multiplier, while the others are worth 3X to 500X. Other symbols appearing on the reels include the Amulet, Sorcery Book and Potions, paying from 10X to 2500X for three or more matches. The Dragon Queen and Dragon King need just two matches for a win, and they are worth 3X to 4000X.
A very special symbol on the fifth reel only is the Dragon Egg Split. This fiery red egg will crack open and release a winged dragon whenever it appears and there is a winning combination of symbols on the reels. The dragon will breathe out a ball of fire that splits the last symbol in each winning combination, turning wins of three in a row into four in a row, four in a row to five and five in a row to six, making the highest line multipliers possible. Once all of the splits have been made, the dragon exits through the top of the screen.
There is another Dragon symbol on the reels, and this one is wild, substituting for all symbols except the Dragon Egg Split or the Dragon Kingdom scatter. The wild Dragon can be split if it appears as the last symbol in a winning combination, and payouts of 10X, 75X, 200X, 2500X or an incredible 25000X are awarded for lining up 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 Dragon symbols in a row on an active payline.
The Dragon Kingdom scatter is also a key symbol on the reels. Whenever 3, 4 or 5 scatters appear anywhere on the reels, the entire wager is multiplied by 6X, 66X or 666X, respectively as an initial payout. Then, the Free Games feature is enabled, warding the player 15 free games with a “dynamic multiplier.” The line multiplier starts at 4X for the first spin. If a winning combination appears, the multiplier goes up to 5X for the next spin, but if there is no win, it reduces to 3X. The multiplier will continue to go up and down between 2X and 5X according to wins made or not.
During the Free Games round, the Dragon Kingdom scatter becomes an Extra Wild. It can substitute for any symbol except the Dragon Egg Split or the Dragon wild. If three or more Dragon Kingdom scatter symbols appear during the Free Games mode, 15 additional free spins are awarded, so that free can continue indefinitely. Also, during the Free Games mode only, the Dragon Kingdom symbol may be split when substituting as an Extra Wild.
