Developed by Dynamite Idea Interactive Gaming, “Football Keno Progressive” is a standard 80-number, 20-draw Keno game with a sports theme. It can be found in the “Numbers & Keno” section of many online casinos, but for those that offer a progressive jackpot as the top prize, such as Bet365, the game is more often listed in the “Jackpots” category.
Football Keno Progressive features a rather standard Keno board, with the numbers divided into eight rows of ten numbers each. One difference is that the grid has been made up to resemble a football pitch seen from overhead, with the numbered squares coloured as green as newly mown grass and chalk-like markings for the corners, midfield and the goal areas drawn in their respective positions.
The variety of wagers available has been limited to straight bets—no “ways bets, “ for example—and the total number of numbers that can be backed ranges from one to fifteen. The amount to wager for each game must be selected from £0.50 to £25.00 by using the up/down arrows that flank the “Stake” counter in the lower left corner of the display
The game of Football Keno Progressive begins by making the board ready for play. Clicking on the blue “Reset” at the bottom of the screen will clear the field. The player may then begin choosing numbers to wager upon by clicking directly on them within the grid. When a number is chosen, it will be covered with a shirt bearing the number selected. If a mistake is made, the entire board can be erased by clicking again on Reset, else individual numbers can be deselected by clicking on them again.
The team colours used for the shirts can be changed by using the pull-out menu to the right of the Keno board marked “Pick a shirt colour.” Nine different variations are available, including Red, Light Blue, Yellow, White, Dark Blue, Orange, Green and Dark Grey as well as Maroon with Blue Sleeves. The kit selection can be changed at any time and the frame around the lower portion of the “Payout per Hit” table on the right side of the display will change to whatever colour is chosen.
As numbers are selected, the respective payouts for winning combinations appear on the Payout per Hit table. At least one number must be chosen in order to play a game. With the exception of the progressive jackpot, the maximum payout is £25,000 or a multiple of 10000X times the Stake, although it is available only for wagers on nine numbers or more and requires getting all of them correct.
Another way to choose the numbers to bet on is to use the “Autopick” option at the bottom of the screen. First, select the number of numbers to wager on from 1 to 15. Then, click on the yellow “Autopick” button. The field will automatically propagate with random number choices. To change them, click on Autopick again for a new set of numbers or click Reset to clear them all.
As soon as the chosen numbers have been marked on the Keno board, the player may begin the game by clicking on the green “Play” button at the bottom of the screen. Numbered footballs will be “kicked” out into two lines of ten just below the board and above the Play button, making a total of twenty balls chosen for each game. If a minimum number of the results were chosen correctly by the player, such as at least three of twelve numbers, the amount won will light up on the Payout per Hit table.
Football Keno Progressive has no “Autoplay” function, nor does it have a Turbo option to speed up play. The Sounds, which include crowd noise and air horns, can be turned on or off by using the toggle under the “Options” menu on the Toolbar at the top of the screen.
