The software developer has used state-of-the-art graphics and audio to re-create the experience of a sunny afternoon at the country club, leisurely playing the front and back nine before enjoying a “golden finish” at the 19th hole in the clubhouse.
As the game is loading, birds can be heard singing in the background, heralding a great day ahead on the fairways. The Golden Tour slots screen then opens to show the game’s 5-reel, 5-payline format, with an idyllic golf scene in the background. It is a hilly course surrounded by lush greenery and a blue, partly cloudy sky. A golfer in the distance chips his ball up toward a sloping green as a white bird flies near the hole’s waving flag.
The credit denomination can be adjusted from €0.01 to €5.00 by clicking on the +/- toggles at the lower left corner of the display. Choose from 1 to 5 paylines and wager one credit per line with the “Bet One” button or click on “Bet Max” to cover all five lines at once. The maximum bet is €25.

Winning combinations can be made by matching any 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the game’s symbols on an active payline from left to right or left to right. Greater awards are available for matching Golf Balls coloured Red and Blue, from 5X to 1000X.
The Golden Tour’s top prize comes from matching 2, 3, 4 or 5 Double Green Balls, valued at 25X, 100X, 500X or 2000X, respectively. The Double Green Balls serve as a limited wild symbol, too, substituting for either the Red or Blue Balls in winning combinations, but not for any other symbols.
The game also have three different types of scatter symbols—Gophers, Ducks, and Catfish. Catching three or more of these of the same kind on consecutive reels activates the Bonus Round. In succession, three screens will appear, giving the player the opportunity to select three clubs—a driver, an iron and a putter.
Next, a fourth screen opens, showing a golfer striking a ball from the apron of the green and into the hole. A trophy is then awarded, indicating the amount of the cash prize that’s been won. When four or five scatters trigger the bonus, winnings are multiplied by 5X or 10X. The main game resumes immediately afterward.
For those who like using Autoplay mode and allowing the game to spin unaided, Golden Tour hides this feature in the pull-down “Tools” menu at the very top of the screen. Clicking Autoplay reveals +/- toggles next to the spins indicator at the lower right corner of the screen. The number of auto spins desired can be typed directly into the counter, too, up to 9,999.
One other bonus feature of Golden Tour is its linkage to Playtech’s progressive Dollar Ball Jackpot. This lotto-type side game can be accessed by using a toggle at the upper right corner of the screen. When activated, five numbers from can be selected 1 to 49. As the main slot game is played, five winning numbers will be drawn at random. Catching 1, 2 or 3 numbers correctly will pay 1X, 2X or 25X, based upon the total wager made. Catching four numbers pays 1% of the progressive jackpot, while getting all five numbers right awards the grand prize.
