The basic reel symbols on Irish Eyes are the standard cards, Nines through Aces. They pay line multipliers from 5X to 150X whenever three or more are matched on an active payline. Higher awards are paid for catching two or more Shamrocks or Pots of Gold, from 3X to 500X. Only two or more of the Rainbow Path symbols are needed to win a payout of 6X to 1250X.
The Leprechaun is wild in Irish Eyes. It substitutes for all other symbols except the Scattered Lady. For catching 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Leprechauns in a row the payout is 2X, 10X, 150X, 1000X or 10000X, respectively. The Scattered Lady is worth a multiplier of the entire wager at levels of 2X, 5X, 20X and 100X whenever 2, 3, 4 or 5 appear in any positions on the reels from left to right.
There are two special bonus features on Irish Eyes. The “Pick Me Bonus” is triggered whenever Leprechauns appear on the first and fifth reels in any position. The rest of the symbols on the screen go dark, and “Pick Me” signs appear on the two Leprechauns. Selecting either Leprechaun will reveal a prize, usually cash. However, some prizes come with a “Pick Again” bonus and one comes with a “Win All” extra bonuses reward.
The second bonus feature is called the Free Games Bonus. It is activated when three or more of the Scattered Lady symbol appear on the reels from left to right. In such cases, a dozen free spins are awarded with tripled payouts for all winning combinations. The graphics of Irish Eyes are uplifting and fanciful, including a brightly coloured rainbow and shamrocks falling from the sky plus pink flowers growing in a lush green landscape in the frame around the reels. All of the symbols animate to some degree when they appear in winning combinations. Most of them simply enlarge, but the Scattered Lady smiles and winks, while the Leprechaun flashes a gold coin.
