Betsoft Gaming have established themselves as one of the leaders in bringing cinematic 3D slots entertainment to the Internet. The 12th release in their Slots-3 Series pays homage to the “Entertainment Capital of the World” by introducing the glitzy, devil-may-care “Mr. Vegas.” From his white stretch limousine to the glamourous women draped on his arms, Mr. Vegas is all about living large and having fun.
Following Betsoft’s typical 5-reel, 30-payline format, Mr. Vegas offers not only big payouts and four bonus games but also a progressive “Mega Jackpot” that grows and grows until some lucky player claims it. The 3D graphics are comparable to the production quality of a studio feature film, with smooth animation and dynamic audio.
The reels of Mr. Vegas are surrounded by brightly flashing neon frames. Most of the game’s controls are located at the bottom of the screen. The coin denomination for the game can be selected by clicking directly on the “Choose Coin” indicator in the lower left corner, from €0.01 to €0.50. Directly below the second and third reels are two stacks of chips marked “Bet Per Line” and “Select Lines.” By clicking directly on their +/- toggles, it is possible to set the total Stake from 1 to 5 coins per line on 1~30 paylines up to a maximum of €75.
As soon as the Stake has been set, clicking on the stack of chips marked “Spin” or the pile of $100 bills under the “Max Bet Spin” button in the display’s lower right corner. Suitable jazz piano and big band music accompanies the spins, and the symbols animate with sound effects for all the winning combinations. The “Sound” on/off toggle in the upper left corner of the screen can be used to control the audio in the background.
The symbols displayed on Mr. Vegas are typical of what might be found at casinos along the Las Vegas Strip. They include Blackjack Cards, Stacks of Chips, Champagne Service, Roulette Wheels and the famous Vegas Welcome Sign. These symbols pay out line multipliers from 50X to 750X whenever three or more match up on an active payline. Higher payouts come with three or more Croupier or Concierge symbols, from 200X to 1250X. And the greatest awards can be gained by aligning two or more symbols for the Blonde, Brunette or Showgirl icons, worth from 25X to 2500X.
Although there are no wild symbols on the reels of Mr. Vegas, bonuses are abundant. Whenever the Craps Dice symbol lines up to the immediate left or right of the Mr. Vegas symbol, he will roll the dice to give the player “Free Spins.” The total rolled on the dice is the number of free spins given, and if doubles are rolled the payouts for all line wins will be doubled. The Free Spins game can be retriggered during free spins mode, too.
Another special symbol appearing on the reels is the “Slot Machine.” Anytime three or more Slot Machine symbols appear in any positions on the reels, the “Mini-Slots Feature” is triggered. A small 3-reel classic slot with one payline will appear in the middle of the screen. The player gets three free pulls on its handle to win prizes, which start at 300 credits for catching just one Cherry symbol on the payline. All winning from the mini-slot are added to the total won during the triggering spin in the main game.
A third special feature of Mr. Vegas is the “Bonus Round.” It is activated any time Mr. Vegas symbols appear simultaneously on reels 1, 3 and 5. Red curtains will close over the screen and then reopen to reveal Mr. Vegas with the Blonde and the Brunette standing next to the Roulette Table. The player must help Mr. Vegas choose three numbers to bet on straight up. Of course, Mr. Vegas is on a hot streak, so one of the numbers will win, usually for 2,250 credits.
The fourth bonus feature is called the “Money Wheel Jackpot.” It is triggered by catching five “Golden Triangle” icons, one on each reel in any position. The icons can be seen in the upper left corner of some reel symbols. Once the Money Wheel Jackpot has been activated, the red curtains will close over the screen and then reopen to reveal a Showgirl standing next to the Money Wheel. Clicking on “Spin” will set the wheel in motion. Prizes range from free spins or cash prizes to a random “Bonus” reward and the “Jackpot,” which is the progressive amount showing in the top left corner of the display.
