Go To bet365Developed by Ash Gaming, a Playtech company, “Reel Gems” is a 5-reel, 20-payline slot available at Bet365, Ladbrokes and other Playtech affiliated casinos. It features a Progressive Jackpot, which can be accessed only during one of the game’s two special bonus features.
To begin, the player must choose the amount to wager per line by using the “Stake Down” and “Stake Up” buttons located at the bottom of the screen below the third reel. Available denominations range from £0.05 to £10.00 per payline. However, it is not necessary to select which lines to play on Reel Gems. All 20 lines are always active. The total amount of the wager will show in the “Stake/Total Stake” counter, which can be found beneath the fifth reel. The maximum total bet is £zero.
To set the reels in motion, click on the green “Play” button in the lower right corner of the screen. When the five reels come to rest, any winning combinations will be highlighted with a colored frame. The values of the line wins and the corresponding line numbers are displayed in the “Win” counter in the upper left corner, while the “Total” winnings are shown in the indicator at the upper right. Funds available can be seen in the “Balance” counter at the very top of the screen with additional indicators for State and Paid.
The basic symbols on the reels are the standard cards, Tens through Aces. Catching three or more of them matching on a payline is worth from 4X to 100X. Higher payouts come from matching three or more Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald or Diamond symbols, valued at 20X to 1500X. The Reel Gems Logo is wild. It substitutes for any of the above symbols and pays 300X, 1000X or 10000X for 3, 4 or 5 Logos in a row from left to right on an active payline.
Another symbol on the reels is the Diamond Ring Scatter. This symbol appears only on the first, third and fifth reels, and the “Winspins Bonus” feature is triggered only when all three scatters show up on the reels simultaneously in any positions. A secondary bonus screen will open, offering the player a choice of three Winspins options: 5 winning spins with a multiplier of 2X~10X, 10 winning spins with a multiplier of 1X~5X or 15 winning spins with a multiplier of 1X~3X.
Once the choice has been made, the slot reels return and begin spinning automatically. Each time a winning combination appears on the reels, it counts as one of the Winspins. A meter pops up at the bottom of the screen and randomly indicates the multiplier for the spin. Any spin that does not feature a winning combination is ignored. Note that the Diamond Rings Scatter symbols are removed from the reels during Winspins, so the bonus may not be retriggered.
One other bonus feature on Reel Gems is its 9 Diamond Progressive jackpot, which can be accessed only in Real Play during normal slot mode. Whenever three Jewelry Box Scatter symbols show on reels one, three and five, the Jewelry Box Scatter Feature is started. The jewelry boxes expand and reveal three gems each. Matching 3 Rubies pays a total wager multiplier of 1X, three emeralds pays 2X, and 3 Diamonds pays 5X. Jewelry boxes continue drawing gems until no more wins occur. Catching 9 Diamonds, 3 in each box, pays the Progressive Jackpot.
Reel Gems has an “Auto Play” function, too. Clicking on the red Auto play button at the lower right corner of the screen allows the player to select 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 automated spins from a pop-up menu. Once the spins begin, they can only be stopped by clicking the red “Stop Auto Play” button that pops up over the Stake Down/Up buttons or when one of the two bonus features is activated.
