Of all the dice games played in casinos, Craps is certainly the most popular. It’s a fact-paced, adrenaline-pumping activity, where the risks and rewards can be as great or small as the player desires. Now thanks to the innovative software development capabilities of Dynamite Idea Interactive Gaming, a simplified version of Craps called “Roll ‘em” can now be played online at major gaming web sites such as Bet365.
Roll ‘em uses a standard pair of six-faced dice. The object of the game is to correctly predict the total that will show when the dice are rolled. There are no other side bets to cause distraction or concern. Those with a good nose for numbers and a bit of intuition can turn small bets into large winnings in a relatively short period of time.
The Roll ‘em display is a recreation of a Craps table at a high-class private club. In the background are the silhouettes of men and women who are deep in animated conversations, along with several leafy ferns, an abstract painting, indirect lighting and a polished red column. The Craps table takes up most of the screen. It features the standard green felt surface surrounded by a stylish metallic rail. A martini glass containing an olive sits upon the rail on the left, while the shooter’s hand extends over the table from the upper right. Crowd noise can be heard in the background.
At the bottom left corner of the screen are the Roll ‘em controls. Clicking on “How to Play” will pop up a box containing instructions for the game. Begin by selecting a Stake amount by using the up/down arrows flanking the orange “Stake per Bet” indicator on the control panel. The available amounts are €0.50, €1, €2, €3, €4, €5, €10, €20 and €25.
As the Stake value is adjusted up or down, the values of the potential payouts will change automatically in the “Payouts for Current Game” display on the right side of the screen beneath the shooter’s hand. This display is also where the player selects the two-dice total that he/she wishes to back. Wagers are paced by clicking directly on the desired dice total from 2 to 12. Clicking on more than one total is possible, too, although the amount per bet is fixed and must be that same for all totals chosen.
Once the bets are in place, clicking on the red “Roll” button on the control panel will set the game of Roll ‘em in motion. The shooter’s hand will form a fist to shake the dice before releasing them onto the table. The dice then bounce off the left wall of the table and roll toward the foreground where they come to rest. The winning Dice Total on the Payout Table will light up in yellow if a wager has been successful or green if there is no winner.
Whenever a winning Total is rolled, the crowd of club patrons applauds. A Yellow message box appears above the table surface to announce “Congratulations, you won” along with the amount of the total payout. This amount is automatically added to the players funds “Balance,” as shown in the counter at the upper right corner of the screen.
The payout odds for each of the eleven possible dice totals are shown clearly next to the betting buttons. A winning roll of 7 earns a stake multiplier of 5.5X. Catching a successful 6 or 8 pays 7X, while winning with a 5 or 9 pays 8.5X. The odds associated with totals of 4 or 10 are 11.5X, and for the 3 or 11 they are 17X. The highest payout is 35X, and it is awarded for correctly wagering on the 2 or 12.
If the Stake per Bet is changed after Dice Totals have been selected and before the Roll, the Payout values will change accordingly. To erase a bet, simply click on the Dice Total to be deleted.
