Hi-Lo games have become a popular genre for Internet gaming, not just because they are easy to learn and play but also because they come in so many varieties. Bringing some new twists to the category is the version known as “Triple Chance Hi-Lo” developed by Dynamite Idea Interactive Gaming, which can now be played on Bet365 and in the arcade sections of other major online casinos.
Triple Chance Hi-Lo consists of three independent slot-type reels lined up across the face of a blue diamond-shaped game area on the right side of the screen. The symbols on the reels are the numbers 1~13. A green flashing “Go” button appears directly to the left of the reels.
To begin a game of Triple Chance Hi-Lo, first choose a Stake. This can be accomplished by using the yellow up/down arrows above and below the “Stake” indicator on the left side of the display. Available amounts are €0.50, €1, €2, €3, €4, €5, €10, €20, €25, €50 and €100. Messages above the Stake indicator tell the player to “Please select your stake, press GO to play. Use the shuffles to improve your numbers.”
As soon as Go is pressed, the Stake indicator disappears. Whatever value was selected is added to the “Cashpot” counter at the lower left. In place of the Stake indicator, a new control appears with a blue “Shuffle” button and six LED-type indicators lined up below it, the right three of which are lit up in blue to show “Shuffles Left.” The message section will read, “Win a shuffle for every three consecutive reel wins (up to a max. of six).”
Notice that the Go button has been replaced by three left-pointing arrows in a yellow diamond and the Hi/Lo arrows above and below each slot reel have lit up to show that they are now active. Payout indicators above and below each reel show the amount to be gained by betting Hi or Lo on that reel.
Select just one reel upon which to wager and click either Hi or Lo. The reels will spin before coming to rest on new numbers. If the player’s choice is incorrect, the words “Game Over” will appear in the Message space, the Cashpot will be lost and the Go button and Stake indicator will return, ready for a new game.
If the player’s choice is correct, the corresponding payout will be added to the Cashpot and the yellow “Collect” button just below it will light up. The player now has the choice to Collect and add the winnings to the funds Balance at the upper right corner of the screen or to risk the total amount on another spin of the reels. The player may use the Collect feature after any win to end the game and start anew or else the game will end automatically after any loss. Unlike some other Hi-Lo games, there is no option to “collect half.”
Whenever the number 1 appears on a reel, only the Hi button will be active, as the next spin must result in as higher number. There are no ties. Similarly, any time a 13 appears, only the Lo button will be active. If the player does not feel confident about selecting Hi or Lo for any of the three reels, clicking on the Shuffle button will spin them all and reset the numbers. Three shuffles are provided at the start of each game. An additional shuffle is earned for every three correct Hi-Lo predictions and they are counted on the left-pointing arrows in the yellow diamond. It is possible to collect after a shuffle as well as after a win.
