The game console has an authentic 3-D appearance. The game begins with the player selecting an amount for wagering. This is accomplished by using the up/down arrows next to the “Stake per Line” indicator on the control panel below the fourth reel. Available wagers range from €0.01 to €5.00. The number of paylines is always the limit, 20, thus making the maximum possible total stake €100.
The basic symbols on the reels are the standard cards, Nines through Aces. Catching three or more of them on an active win line from left to right is worth a line bet multiplier of from 3X to 200X. Just two of the Nines will pay out, too, at a multiplier of 2X. Three or more matching Crocodile, Monkey, Zebra, Giraffe or Elephant symbols will pay multipliers of 20X or 2000X. There is also a Wild symbol on the reels, and it substitutes for any of the above symbols. Catching 2, 3, 4 or 5 Wilds on an active payline is worth a multiplier of 12X, 200X, 4000X or 40000X, respectively.
The Safari Car scatter appears on all five reels. Whenever 3, 4 or 5 of the scatter symbols come up in any positions, they trigger the Free Spins Bonus Round. In all cases, 15 free games are awarded, but when 3 Safari Cars initiate the feature, the fifth reel becomes a stacked and locked Wild, 4 Safari Cars locks stacked Wilds in reels four and five, and 5 Safari Cars turns all three of the rightmost reels into locked, stacked Wilds.
During the free spins, the maximum payout times the stake per line value is 40000X. Any payouts over that amount, or unused free spins, will be cancelled. Note that the free spins cannot be re-triggered.
Wild Safari also offers an Auto Play option. The “Auto” button can be found on the right side of the control panel next to the “Start” button. Clicking on it opens an Auto Play screen with several options, including settings for the number of auto spins from 10 to 500, a stop amount for jackpots, a “Fast Reel Spin” function on/off, and the option to either pause or automatically continue when the Free Spins Bonus Round feature is awarded.
Another special aspect of Wild Safari is its audio-visual enhancements. The symbols animate when they appear in winning combinations. On the “Options” menu at the upper left of the display, the screen resolution can be set to High, Medium or Low. Clicking on ‘Sound” will pop open a window of audio selections, including sliders to set the Master Sound and Reel Spins Sounds, as well as radio buttons for Themed Music or Generic Sound.
